Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager in South Carolina to oversee daily store operations and staff. You will manage ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, staffing and support, while ensuring compliance with company policies and safety guidelines.

You will recruit and train employees, conduct performance evaluations, and lead by example to deliver superior customer service and store performance.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret policies and procedures.
• Strong math and numerical skills for basic calculations and reporting.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures.
• Experience with store operations, inventory and merchandising.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of federal and state labor laws as they apply to staffing.
• Understanding of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and termination processes.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees and staff the store.
• Provide training and conduct performance evaluations; address gaps and counsel or terminate as needed.
• Make compensation and advancement recommendations for staff.
• Communicate expectations and coordinate safety and policies.
• Open and close the store as required, ensuring security and readiness.
