Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all store processes, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation and staff support. You will recruit and retain qualified employees, train and evaluate performance, and ensure compliance with safety and cash-control procedures.

You will manage daily operations, open and close the store, monitor sales trends, inventory levels, and in-stock targets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Experience recruiting, hiring, and coaching staff with legal compliance.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to federal and state laws and company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide proper training for employees; conduct performance evaluations; identify gaps for solutions or counseling.
• Manage store operations: ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling and staffing.
• Open and close the store as needed; ensure security and safety standards.
• Monitor sales, profitability and inventory; address shrink and errors; review ordering and stock levels.
