Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all store operations in a fast-paced environment. You will lead and develop the store team, manage ordering, receiving, stocking and merchandising, and drive sales while ensuring compliance with safety and company policies.

You will supervise daily cash handling, audit inventory accuracy, and coach staff to deliver exceptional customer service. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills in a retail setting.

Qualifications

• Manages store processes including staffing, ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, and support.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Experience with inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Strong training, evaluation and performance counseling abilities.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide proper training for employees; conduct performance evaluations and provide counseling or termination when needed.
• Make recommendations on pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance expectations and coordinate meetings to ensure safety and policy adherence.
• Open/close the store regularly and ensure proper staffing during shifts.
• Analyze operating statements to identify sales, profitability and inventory trends.
• Order to meet in-stock targets and manage Basic Stock Replenishment and cycle counts.
• Facilitate efficient staging, stocking and storage of merchandise.
• Ensure merchandise presentation, pricing and signage meet standards.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and protect assets; enforce cash controls and security.
