Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate in Brewton, AL to assist the Store Manager with staffing, merchandising, inventory control and daily store operations. This role focuses on developing external candidates for future Store Manager positions and will be for a limited period.

You will contribute to cash handling, security procedures, customer service leadership and adherence to company policies while supporting open/close routines and reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year retail experience preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to recruit, interview, hire and counsel while following legal compliance and internal processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stocking according to established practices and manager direction.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management including damages, markdowns, scans, paperwork and controls.
• Follow prescribed ordering to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Follow company procedures and policies from handbook and SOPs.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposit of all company funds and cash control procedures.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment for customers and employees.
• Operate store in store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities to improve profitability and inventory turns.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on time.
