Job summary

Academy Sports + Outdoors is seeking a Store Director to lead overall store performance, shaping customer experiences and driving profitability. You will set the store vision, oversee merchandising, inventory control, loss prevention, and personnel development across departments.

You will partner with regional leaders to implement strategies, manage budgets, and ensure execution while maintaining community relations and brand standards. Flexibility to travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• 10 years of retail experience, including 7 years of progressive leadership responsibility.
• Demonstrated success leading retail teams, including salaried leaders and teams of 40-80 people.
• Financial acumen with budgeting, payroll, and expense control.

Responsibilities

• Lead store operations including merchandising, inventory, loss prevention, and expense management.
• Drive exceptional customer experiences and strong financial performance.
• Mentor and develop store leadership and frontline teams to align with company priorities.
