Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead daily retail operations in a high-volume environment. You will supervise staff, recruit and train employees, manage inventory, and ensure excellent customer service while maintaining store safety and profitability.

You will be responsible for scheduling, opening/closing the store, and enforcing company policies. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage all employees in planning and implementing store processes including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation and staffing.
• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees in compliance with labor laws and policies.
• Train employees, conduct performance reviews and address gaps including counseling or termination if necessary.
• Communicate performance expectations and coordinate safety and policy meetings.
• Ensure proper staffing, opening/closing routines, and adherence to schedules.
• Monitor sales, profits, stock levels, and inventory to identify trends and control costs.
• Oversee inventory control, replenishment, and cycle counts; ensure accurate records.
• Maintain presentation standards, pricing, signage and fixture usage.
• Enforce cash handling integrity, key control, and security procedures.
• Deliver superior customer service leadership and maintain a clean, safe store environment.
