Job summary

Journeys in Ohio is seeking a Manager in Training to recruit, coach, and inspire a store team while driving sales and protecting company assets. You will lead daily operations, schedule staff, and deliver a fun, full-service experience to customers.

Qualifications

• Prior retail management experience preferred.
• 1–2 years retail sales experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Desire to succeed in fast-paced retail environment.
• Willingness to learn.
• Completion of all training programs leading up to Manager in Training position or equivalent training.
• Ability to work 45 hours per week and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Meet and exceed store and personal sales goals and standards of performance.
• Recruit, interview, and hire high-caliber employees with in-store needs.
• Train and develop a successful sales team.
• Provide feedback, coaching, and accountability to all employees by enforcing policies and practices.
• Ensure that all company initiatives are properly implemented and aligned with company direction.
• Conduct monthly performance reviews.
• Recognize talented staff and develop them for growth within the company.
• Supervise and manage all aspects of daily store operations.
• Supervise and manage all aspects of Loss Prevention practices.
• Plan weekly staffing schedules in accordance with schedules policy.
• Provide a fun, full-service experience to all customers.
• Resolve customer issues effectively.
• Complete bank deposits.
• Understand Journeys culture and demonstrate it to the team.
