Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in business administration or related field.
• Five years of experience in a retail grocery environment with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Two years of experience in an assistant store manager or similar role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management skills.
• Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment.
• Strong strategic planning and business acumen skills.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Spanish communication ability is highly desirable depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Provide focused and effective leadership to store associates, building a positive, customer-focused store culture.
• Oversee department management including staffing, training, performance management and development.
• Develop and monitor department budgets and assist with quarterly/yearly budgets.
• Manage store P&L, budgeted sales, gross profit and controllable expenses.
• Ensure adherence to safety, food safety, HR, merchandising, loss prevention, OSHA and other audits.
• Coordinate merchandising and inventory programs with corporate partners.
• Implement and manage work schedules and payroll expense controls.
• Lead customer service initiatives to achieve total customer satisfaction.
• Engage with local community to positively position the company.
