Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, customer-first store and support the Store Manager with staff supervision and merchandising. The role includes stocking, cashiering, paperwork, and deposits to maximize profitability and minimize losses.

You will lead customer service, assist with scheduling and training, and ensure safety and policy compliance while maintaining accurate inventory and planograms.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, operate cash register to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling employees and training, and conduct safety meetings.
• Manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking, and displays as directed.
• Assist inventory control and ensure planograms are followed.
• Maintain cashier integrity, key control, and deposit money.
