Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in operating a customer-focused store. You will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, deposits, and paperwork, while maintaining profitability and asset protection.

You will perform stocking, cashiering, and various duties to ensure smooth store performance and excellent customer service. This role requires leadership and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to operate cash register and scanner.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings, and ensuring policy compliance.
• Follow company processes to manage merchandise, including receiving, stocking, and displaying.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms; ensure merchandise is presented as directed.
• Assist in ensuring financial integrity through cashier accountability, deposits, and cash controls; count tills and sign for refunds/overrides.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
