Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist the Store Manager with supervising staff, merchandising, deposits, and paperwork, while handling stocking and cashier duties to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include leading customer service, scheduling, training, inventory control, planogram maintenance, and ensuring store security and cash controls.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training.
• Manage merchandise, including receiving, unpacking, stocking and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages and markdowns.
• Assist with planogram implementation and merchandise presentation.
• Support cashier accountability, cash handling, and bank deposits.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
