Job summary

Dollar General Corporation seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager, you will supervise staff, merchandise presentation, deposits, and paperwork to maximize profitability while protecting assets.

You will perform stocking, cashiering, and other duties as needed, with opportunities to lead and develop the team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year experience in retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Able to perform cash register functions and generate reports.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings, and compliance with policies.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking and displays.
• Maintain inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls.
• Assist in planogram implementation and merchandise presentation.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability, key control, refunds/overrides and deposits.
• Assist with store management in Store Manager's absence.
