Job summary

Toys“R”Us Otay Ranch Town Center is seeking a Store Manager who loves working with people and leads a team to create a fun, memorable customer experience. You will plan daily operations, develop staff, drive sales targets, and coordinate with Merchandising, Promotions, Events, Training and Finance to implement the Pillars of Play.

The role requires a proven retail management background, coaching skills, and the ability to work a flexible schedule in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• BA, BS or Associate’s degree required.
• Preferred professional experience – minimum 2 years in Retail, Hospitality or Event execution management.
• Self-motivated, accountable, responsible and open to feedback.
• Proven successful experience as a retail store manager with sales focus.
• A solution-oriented leader with a sense of innovation and curiosity.
• Knowledge in retail operations, sales, customer service, merchandising, inventory control, store budget preparation and loss prevention is preferred.
• Experience in behavioral coaching, conflict management, training and development is a plus.
• Proficient computer skills e.g.: Microsoft Office. POS experience preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Ability to manage a sales floor by delegating tasks effectively, ensuring the sales floor remains appropriately stocked and visually merchandised; Associates are Customer-focused and store atmosphere reflects Toys“R”Us.

• Self-motivated, passionate about the work, lead with optimism and a solution-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Create an animated, appealing environment by inspiring the team to deliver a great Customer experience.
• Coach team to anticipate customer needs and maintain a store atmosphere that is fun.
• Cultivate a strong partnership with Visual Merchandising and flawlessly execute merchandising standards and marketing strategies.
• Recruit, hire, train and retain an Associate team capable of meeting sales targets in a cheerful environment.
• Deliver training and feedback; conduct mid-year and annual reviews for all employees.
• Build team morale by celebrating successes.
• Establish strategic plans to generate sales and drive KPIs.
• Analyze KPIs to make real-time business decisions.
• Share learnings with Home Office and provide Customer insights for product assortment and events.
