Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Texas LLC in Mesquite, TX is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run store operations, deliver great customer service, and develop team members.

You will support opening/closing, merchandising, inventory, scheduling, and loss prevention while upholding company standards, policies, and safety. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical store tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Customer service excellence and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering, handling damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling/cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Keep the store well-stocked and organized to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Support Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean and presentable; stockrooms and restrooms maintained.
• Other duties as assigned.
