Job summary

Caleres is seeking a full-time Assistant Store Manager in New York to lead the team in the Store Manager's absence, drive sales, and deliver an engaging customer experience across our brands. You will coach associates, hire and train talent, manage daily operations, and uphold policies while building a culture that reflects Caleres' Famous Footwear family.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year retail sales experience preferred.
• Experience in interviewing, hiring and training assistants.
• Ability to lead, motivate and communicate with store associates.
• Ability to train and coach for engaging customer experiences and operations.
• Judgment and discretion in partnering with Store Sales Manager.
• Strong problem solving, decision making and retail knowledge.
• Flexible schedule including holidays, nights, weekends.

Responsibilities

• Inspire associates with integrity and drive to strengthen customer relationships and operations.
• Identify and recruit exceptional talent, supporting Store Manager in hiring.
• Maintain daily operations: pricing, shipping, inventory and store standards.
• Drive sales and analyze insights to improve location performance.
• Build a diverse, inclusive culture and support retention and performance.
• Act as Store Manager's right hand and ensure policy compliance and training.
