Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Kansas, Inc. is seeking a Key Holder to open/close the store, manage daily retail operations, and supervise sales staff. You will ensure accurate sales records, drive excellent customer service, and maintain store standards in alignment with Goodwill's mission.

The role requires leadership, integrity, and hands-on involvement in merchandising, donations processing, and daily deposits. Weekend shifts and reliable transportation are expected.

Qualifications

• High school education or the equivalent required.
• Must have full knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting to maintain sales records and reports incidental to store operations.
• Must be a person with excellent character references and a well-developed sense of responsibility.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the sales force and Sales Floor. Sells merchandise as time permits. Attends to and satisfies customer’s needs. Handles customer complaints in a fair and impartial manner, coordinating as necessary. Promotes special events.
• Receives and checks incoming stock and supervises checkouts and stock transfers. Checks condition and placement of stock in a clean, neat, and orderly condition. Suggests and maintains displays and advertising ideas and prepares and places signs in sales areas.
• Supervises store personnel and maintains projected sales goals.
• Represents Goodwill in the area served, striving to enhance the Goodwill image through individual and group participation.
• Maintain records of store operations as required. Reviews and analyzes sales to determine effectiveness of methods used and adequacy of prices.
• To perform all administrative and record keeping duties as required in store manager’s and/or assistant manager’s absence.
• Sorts clothing and textiles items; inspects items and determines salability; handles stock rotation.
• Hangs clothing items, assigns hangers, and ensures correct labeling and display.
• Aids in safety, cleanliness, and adherence to policy.
• Answers telephone and assists customers with basic operations.
• Assists donations and donor interactions.
