Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker with lead responsibilities to support store operations. You will unload trucks, stock and rotate merchandise, assist customers, and handle cash responsibilities while maintaining store standards.

In this role, you will help manage plan-o-grams, supervise in the absence of store leadership, and ensure a safe, clean shopping environment. A high school diploma or equivalent and basic math skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram guidance.
• Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to the prescribed process for the store.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face merchandise on shelves and build merchandise displays.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Greet customers as they enter the store.
• Operate cash register and bag merchandise; collect payment and make change.
• Maintain a clean, well-organized store and safe working environment.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Open and/or close the store under direction of the Area Manager; sign refunds and overrides.
