Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a cashier/stocker who can step into a lead role when the Store Manager is absent. You will assist in plan-o-gram setup, stocking, and customer service to maximize profitability and satisfaction.

The role involves unloading trucks, processing shipments, maintaining displays, and ensuring a clean, organized store. Strong cash handling, math, and communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash registers.
• Familiarity with cash, safety, and loss-prevention policies.
• Effective interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Understanding and adherence to safety policies.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks per store process.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock merchandise and build displays.
• Restock returned merchandise.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and bag merchandise.
• Open and/or close the store under direction of Area Manager.
