Job summary

Dollar General Corporation seeks a Cashier/Stocker lead to perform checkout duties, assist customers, and lead in the absence of store management. You will help implement plan-o-grams, stock merchandise, unload trucks, and maintain a clean, safe store environment.

Responsibilities include operating the register, handling cash, aiding in displays, and ensuring quick, friendly service while following company SOPs and procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math and percentages accurately.
• Knowledge of cash handling and deposit controls.
• Experience with IBM cash registers or similar systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with safety, cash, and loss prevention policies.
• Strong communication, both oral and written.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-grams and merchandise guidance.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks per store procedures.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock and rotate merchandise; build displays.
• Restock returned and recovered items.
• Assist with plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Greet customers and help locate merchandise.
• Operate cash register and bag items; collect payment.
• Keep front-end organized and clean; maintain safety.
• Open/close store under guidance of Area Manager.
