Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker to support daily store operations and leadership in the absence of store management. You will greet customers, stock shelves, process transactions, and ensure a clean, organized shopping environment.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, maintaining planograms, assisting customers, and upholding store standards to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks per store procedures.
• Stock merchandise and rotate on shelves; build displays.
• Restock returned merchandise and drop shipments as assigned.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Greet customers and help locate merchandise; provide superior service.
• Operate register, handle payments, bag items, and maintain front-end areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the store; support team leadership.
