Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Associate who can function as a cashier and stocker, leading in the absence of the Store Manager. You will help with plan-o-gram implementation, merchandise presentation, and providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking shelves, operating the register, and maintaining a clean, organized store environment while protecting assets and reducing losses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to perform cashier duties including handling deposits and accountability.
• Familiarity with plan-o-grams and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Experience with IBM cash register functions and everyday store operations.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to store processes.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock merchandise and rotate on shelves; build displays.
• Restock returned merchandise and manage stock levels.
• Assist in ordering zones and drop shipments as directed.
• Maintain front end and register area; greet customers.
• Operate cash register and scan items; collect payment and provide change.
• Keep store clean and safe; support sidewalk displays and store upkeep.
• Provide superior customer service and leadership in manager's absence.
• Open or close the store under Area Manager direction.
