Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker who can lead in the absence of store management and deliver excellent customer service. You will help maximize profitability while protecting company assets and reduce losses.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking shelves, maintaining plan-o-grams, assisting customers, and keeping the store clean and safe. This full-time role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and can involve some supervisory duties.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposits.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, safety, and loss prevention policies.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to store procedures.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock and rotate merchandise; maintain displays.
• Restock returned merchandise and support stock levels.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Greet customers and assist with locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and bag merchandise; collect payment and give change.
• Keep store clean and organized, including floors, restrooms, and stockroom.
• Open/close the store as directed by management.
• Provide exceptional customer service leadership.
