Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a dedicated Cashier/Stocker who can also act as a lead in the absence of store leadership. You will support merchandising plans, assist customers, and ensure smooth store operations.

The role emphasizes accuracy in cash handling, customer service, and teamwork to maximize profitability and minimize losses. The position requires basic math, plan-o-gram knowledge, and the ability to operate the register while maintaining store standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math operations including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling and cashier accountability procedures.
• Experience with IBM cash register functions and deposits.
• Understanding of safety and cash control policies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram merchandising guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks following store procedures.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock, rotate, and face merchandise; build displays.
• Restock returned merchandise and manage shelf stock.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Greet customers and assist in locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register, total purchases, and bag items.
• Maintain clean and organized front-end and store areas.
• Provide superior customer service leadership when needed.
• Open/close the store under Area Manager direction.
