Job summary

Dollar General Corporation in Columbus seeks a Lead Sales Associate to help keep a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist customers, operate the cash register, stock shelves, and support the Store Manager.

This role combines frontline sales with leadership duties; you may open/close the store and step in for store leadership in the manager's absence while upholding safety, planograms, and company policies.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandising guides.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic including percentages.
• Ability to perform cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash handling policies and deposit control.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to total purchases, collect payment and make change.
• Stock, restock and rotate merchandise on shelves; build displays.
• Clean the store; take out trash; dust and mop floors; care for restrooms and stockroom.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms.
• Open and close the store under direction of the Store Manager.
• Perform duties in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
