Job summary

Dollar General in Medina, OH is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist customers, operate a cash register, stock merchandise, and support the Store Manager in daily operations.

This role blends frontline customer service with leadership duties in the absence of managers; prior retail experience and ability to lift up to 40 pounds are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform basic math and cash handling functions.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total customer purchases; collect payment, make change, bag merchandise.
• Stock merchandise, restock and rotate on shelves; build merchandise displays.
• Clean the store; take out trash; dust and mop floors; clean restroom and stockroom; assist with sidewalk displays.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms.
• Open and close the store under direction of Store Manager.
• Perform duties in absence of Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
