Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a capable cashier/stocker who can act as a lead in the absence of store management. You will unload trucks, stock shelves, implement plan‑o‑grams, assist customers, and help maintain a clean, organized store while delivering strong customer service.

Responsibilities include operating the register, handling payments, and supporting loss prevention. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and efficient store operations in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math operations such as addition, subtraction, percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash registers and scanners.
• Familiarity with plan‑o‑gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks per store process and stock merchandise.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; stock on shelves and build displays.
• Restock and rotate merchandise; maintain clean store areas.
• Maintain and implement plan‑o‑grams; assist customers in locating items.
• Operate register, collect payment, and provide bagging.
• Open/close the store under supervisor direction.
• Ensure cashier accountability and cash control procedures.
• Monitor cash levels and assist with deposits as needed.
