Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a capable Cashier/Stocker to support store leadership in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. The role focuses on customer service, stock handling, plan-o-gram upkeep, and safe store operations.

You will unload shipments, stock shelves, assist customers, run the register, and help maintain a clean, organized store while protecting assets and reducing losses. This is a full-time, on-site position in the community.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and process deliveries according to store procedures.
• Receive, open, unpack cartons and totes while maintaining inventory accuracy.
• Stock, rotate, face, and build displays; restock returned merchandise.
• Plan and order zones and drop shipments as directed by the Store Manager.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Greet customers and assist in locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register, total purchases, bag merchandise, and handle payments.
• Maintain clean store front, stockroom, and restrooms; monitor safety and security.
