Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a lead Cashier/Stocker to support store operations, assist in plan-o-gram implementation, and provide exceptional customer service. The role includes answering customer questions, managing stock and displays, and acting in a lead capacity when managers are absent.

Responsibilities also include handling cash, operating the register, and ensuring store safety and efficiency. Frequent movement, stocking, and adherence to procedures are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise; maintain plan-o-grams and displays.
• Operate cash register and collect payments; provide customer service.
• Greet customers and assist with locating merchandise.
• Maintain store cleanliness and organization; secure the cash area.
• Open/close store under directives; monitor cash levels and bank deposits.
• Authorize refunds/overrides in absence of store manager.
