Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker to lead in the absence of the Store Manager, assist with plan-o-grams, and provide exceptional customer service. Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking, merchandising, and operating the register to complete customer transactions.

You will help maintain a clean, organized store, ensure security, and support a safe shopping environment while meeting company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety policies.
• Effective interpersonal and written and oral communication.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks per store process.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock, rotate and display merchandise on shelves.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Greet customers and assist in locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and bag items; collect payment and make change.
• Maintain checkout areas, bags and bags; manage register content.
• Open/close store under direction of Area Manager.
• Maintain clean, safe store environment.
