Job summary

Books-A-Million in Matthews, NC is seeking an experienced General Manager on Duty to lead 2nd & Charles stores, drive sales, and deliver exceptional customer service through strong leadership.

You will oversee all store operations, manage budgets, recruit and develop the store team, and ensure efficient product flow and loss prevention. A retail leadership and merchandising background is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
• Previous management experience required.
• Strong customer service and merchandising skills.
• Ability to supervise a large number of associates.
• Pass background screenings.

Responsibilities

• Lead store team to maximize profits and customer service while adhering to company policies.
• Oversee store operations and ensure security, cash handling, and loss prevention.
