Job summary

Macy's is seeking a Director, In Store, to lead People Leaders and drive strategy for sales, customer experience, and store operations. You will coach teams, analyze store performance, and implement action plans to grow business and loyalty across key initiatives.

You will manage workload planning for pricing, visual execution, events, and logistics, while developing talent and ensuring a high‑performing, inclusive environment. Significant leadership experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
• 7–10 years retail management experience with a track record of developing leaders.
• Strong written and verbal communication, ability to influence management and partners.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite and RF equipment; ability to multitask and manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of People Leaders and Store teams to drive customer experience, sales, and operations.
• Analyze store performance and implement action plans to improve deficient areas and capitalize on opportunities.
• Drive sales through coaching, feedback, and incentives while optimizing productivity and efficiency.
• Plan workloads around pricing, signing, visual merchandising, and event execution; oversee product movement and back‑of‑house logistics.
• Foster a culture of exceptional customer service and community engagement; lead talent development and succession planning.
