Macy’s in the United States is seeking a Director, In Store to lead a team of People Leaders and drive strategy to achieve sales while upholding Macy’s customer service standards.

You will coach and develop a retail leadership team, analyze store performance, plan events and customer experience initiatives, and ensure a clean, organized shopping environment. This role reports to Store Manager and offers growth and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required for the role.
• 7–10 years of retail management experience with leadership development.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting to management and partners.
• Basic math functions and ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Proficient with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Exchange.
• Self-motivated with organizational and time-management strengths.
• Comfortable collaborating within a team and driving urgent actions.
• Familiar with RF equipment and computer systems used on the sales floor.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of People Leaders and store managers.
• Analyze store performance and implement action plans to grow sales.
• Drive customer experience, selling, merchandise, and operations.
• Plan pricing, signage, visuals, and event execution to support goals.
• Ensure efficient product movement, fulfillment, and back-of-house activity.
• Foster a customer-focused culture and manage performance issues.
• Collaborate with managers to build client relationships through styling services.
• Recruit, train, and develop talent; participate in strategic staffing decisions.
• Ensure store coverage and policy adherence; maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
