Job summary

The Michaels Companies is seeking a Store Associate for their Normal, IL location. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe store environment and delivering a friendly shopping experience. You will assist customers, handle basic checkout tasks, and support Omni channel processes like Buy Online Pickup in Store and Ship from Store.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high standard of overall look and feel of the store, including cleanliness and recovery standards to deliver our Brand Promises.
• Deliver friendly customer service, help customers shop the store and find what they’re looking for.
• Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures.
• Dust and damp mop floors; move equipment and products for cleaning; place items back in correct placement.
• Prepare cleaning solutions per specifications and mix water and detergents as required.
• Deep clean key areas including bathrooms, breakrooms, entryways and other high traffic areas.
• Keep cleaning equipment neat; notify supervisor of supply needs for replenishment.
• Take initiative to identify areas needing cleaning and complete tasks assigned by supervisor.
• Follow SOPs and company policies; ensure compliance with laws and requirements.
