Job summary

Michaels is hiring a Retail- Party and Event Host in Cedar Knolls, NJ. You will plan and coordinate events, including children’s parties, inside our store, delivering friendly customer service and guiding guests through crafts and activities.

You'll engage customers, support BOPIS/SFS processes, and help with stocking, merchandising and store recovery tasks. Previous retail or service experience is preferred.

• The ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with others.
• Must have excellent people skills.
• Must have good communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication.
• Must have organizational and interpersonal skills and creative problem solving.
• Retail and/or customer service experience required

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events within the Michaels store, including children’s parties.
• Engage with clients of all ages, creating a fun and creative environment.
• Demonstrate and instruct craft activities, and perform face painting if needed.
• Facilitate party add-ons and communicate plans with clients and staff.
• Handle emails, calls, and paperwork; adjust plans by client feedback.
• Set up, break down, and maintain store cleanliness and safety during events.
• Assist with checkout and reward enrollment as part of guest experience.
