Job summary

Academy Sports + Outdoors in Orlando is seeking a Store Director to lead the store's performance, drive exceptional customer experiences, and develop a high‑performing team. You will translate company priorities into clear goals while empowering staff to execute with accountability.

You will oversee merchandising, inventory, loss prevention, and financial planning, using performance data to grow sales and efficiency while building community relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 10 years of retail experience, including 7 years of progressive leadership responsibility.
• Proven success leading retail teams, including salaried leaders and teams of 40-80 people.
• Strong customer service mindset with a focus on delivering exceptional in-store experiences.
• Demonstrated ability to drive sales, profitability, and operational execution.
• Experience managing store operations including merchandising, inventory, and loss prevention.
• Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, payroll, and expense control.
• Ability to communicate, interpret, and execute company policies and initiatives effectively.
• Willingness to travel periodically to support operations in other stores as needed.
• Audit firearm sales in compliance with federal and state requirements, including ATF Form 4473 completion.
