Job summary

Cavender’s is seeking a Department Manager in Katy, TX to join the Store Management Team. You will supervise team members, drive sales, coach associates, and lead training to meet department and store goals while maintaining a clean, safe, and well-presented store in accordance with company standards.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to sell product and manage a retail department.
• Drive results, develop talent, excel in customer service and exercise sound decision making.
• Associate must be able to read English and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Support the Cavender’s Culture and drive Mission, Vision, and Values.
• Perform the tasks of a Cashier, Sales Associate and Key Carrier as needed.
• Maintain active role in personal selling and meet or exceed sales per hour goals.
• Act as Manager on Duty as assigned and supervise store associates to deliver Best of the WEST customer service.
• Open and close store as directed and address customer complaints.
• Handle returns and exchanges and manage associate assignments and concerns.
• Increase sales, maintain profit structure, and reduce controllable expenses using key metrics.
• Lead training of store associates on sales techniques and product knowledge.
• Ensure store appearance and presentation meets standards; enforce policies.
• Participate in Loss Prevention and report safety/security incidents promptly.
• Monitor department performance and contribute to store goals for sales and payroll.
• Correct timecard exceptions and manage department staffing.
