Job summary

Cavender’s is seeking a Department Manager to join our Store Management Team in Tempe, AZ. You will supervise associates, coach on sales techniques, and act as Manager on Duty while supporting store sales goals and safe, well-presented environments.

You will also ensure adherence to company policies, lead by example in customer service, and drive efficiency in payroll and operations to deliver Best of the WEST customer experience.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to sell product and manage a retail department.
• Ability to drive sales, coach associates, and manage time and payroll.
• Read and understand English.
• Ability to supervise store shifts.

Responsibilities

• Support Cavender’s Culture and drive Mission, Vision, and Values.
• Lead training of store associates and coach on sales techniques.
• Act as Manager on Duty and assist in day-to-day store management.
• Open and close the store as directed.
• Address customer complaints and handle returns/exchanges.
• Maintain clean, well-presented store per visual standards.
• Monitor department performance and help meet store goals for sales and payroll.
• Ensure safety and Loss Prevention measures in the store.
• Track timecard exceptions and scheduling for department associates.
