Job description

We are so much more than a Parts Store and we are looking for even more great talent to join our NAPA family! As a NAPA Counter Sales associate, you are looked at as the “face of the retail store” and the go-to person as soon as our customers enter our retail stores for all of their automotive needs. You don’t need to be able to tear down and rebuild engines (though that’s a plus), but we do require you to have a background and knowledge of automotive parts.

What you will be doing:

  1. Providing auto parts answers and solutions for retail and wholesale customers in person and over the phone.
  2. Using your parts knowledge to assist other NAPA team members in answering customer questions.
  3. Providing outstanding customer care and interactions with everyone who enters our NAPA Store.
  4. Bringing customer focus and high energy to our fast-paced stores.
  5. Welcoming retail customers and engaging with them to ensure a positive experience.
  6. Utilizing technology (computer, cash register, telephone, paper catalog system).

  2. Have gained experience in the automotive industry or through tinkering and repairing cars and trucks.
  3. Are willing to learn all things automotive if you lack background in auto parts.

What you’ll need:

  1. Valid Driver’s License.
  2. Experience in a parts store or automotive industry, or a willingness to learn.
  3. High School Diploma or GED; technical or trade school courses or degree is a plus.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Enjoy fast-paced retail environments.
  6. Great listening skills and empathy for customers.

And if you have this, even better (not a deal breaker if you don’t):

  1. Background or passion for automotive, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership.
  2. Experience in a parts store, auction, retail store, or auto body/collision.
  3. Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems.
  4. Customer-centric mindset (external/internal).
  5. ASE Certifications.
