JOB TITLE: ASSISTANT MANAGER

DEPARTMENT: RETAIL
STATUS: FULL-TIME
SALARY: $18.00 / hour
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: STORE MANAGER

POSITION OBJECTIVES
  • Provide customers with the best selection and service, maintaining well-organized stores to support spiritual, social, and rehabilitation programs.
  • Meet store sales and income targets while managing expenses to maximize profitability.
  • Create a positive environment for Beneficiaries (ARC program participants) through collaboration with program staff.
  • Implement effective Work Therapy Assignments to keep Beneficiaries focused and progressing.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 2 years of retail management or supervisory experience, preferably in thrift stores.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license, pass MVR, show proof of insurance, and have access to a vehicle.
  • Pass background checks including criminal and sex offender registry.
  • Effective communication skills with management, staff, customers, and donors.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist.
  • Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Repetitive motion capabilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Assist Store Manager in daily operations including opening/closing, POS, inventory, and donations.
  • Manage store operations in the Manager's absence.
  • Monitor performance indicators to drive sales and profitability.
  • Schedule staff, oversee payroll, and ensure proper coverage.
  • Hire, train, and evaluate staff performance.
  • Ensure high customer and donor satisfaction and community relations.
  • Support Back Room Processing and Beneficiary supervision.
  • Secure store assets and ensure safety compliance.
  • Participate in safety meetings and be adaptable to store relocations.
  • Complete tasks assigned by supervisors.
