Job summary

The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality seeks a Natural Resources Program Principal in the Storage Tank Program to lead remediation projects, approve engineering designs, and coordinate construction and maintenance for site cleanup and tank inspections.

The role requires responding to information requests, reviewing data, and coordinating with various agencies to ensure compliance while residing near Lander, WY.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (typically in the Sciences).
  • 1–2 years of progressive work experience at the level of Natural Resources Analyst.
  • 4–6 years of progressive work experience at the level of Natural Resources Analyst as substitution option.
  • Knowledge of geology fundamentals, project management principles, and environmental cleanup methods.
  • Ability to read and apply federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews consultant submittals and helps develop remedies for remediation.
  • Analyzes complex environmental data and informs site characterization and remedial decisions.
  • Responds to technical questions related to policies, procedures, regulations, and statutes.
  • Oversees consultants and contractors on multiple remediation projects to protect health and environment.
