Job summary

Naturally, the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality seeks a Natural Resources Analyst to perform technical analysis of permit applications and coordinate with staff for compliance monitoring under groundwater and pollution control programs. Office-based in Lander or Sheridan, with potential field work and travel.

Responsibilities include reviewing permits, collecting hydrogeological data, drafting technical summaries, and assisting with public and industry inquiries.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in the sciences; 0–3 years of related experience or 4–6 years with equivalent knowledge.
  • Strong technical writing and data review skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proficient in standard office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and able to manage audit-ready files.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field inspections and support compliance activities for groundwater programs.
  • Review permit applications and environmental plans for regulatory alignment.
  • Collect and analyze chemical, geological, and hydrogeological data and verify methodology.
  • Draft compliance reports, meeting notes, and technical summaries.
  • Assist with coordination of site logistics and field sampling events.
  • Maintain organized project files and manage daily schedules and priorities.
