Job summary

Universal Storage Group is seeking a Relief Manager for its American Store & Lock locations in Charlotte, NC. The role involves frontline customer service, coordinating rentals, and performing site upkeep in a fast-paced self-storage environment.

Responsibilities include handling payments, conducting regular inspections, and supporting marketing efforts. Candidates should be capable of lifting up to 25–100 pounds, pass background and drug screenings, and have a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License.
• Background check required.
• Drug screen required.
• Attitude and aptitude testing.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a smile and handshake.
• Help customers determine the best unit size and complete rental paperwork.
• Perform scheduled facility walk-throughs and lock checks.
• Post payments received and track past-due accounts.
• Participate in monthly marketing activities (calls, visits, emails, social media).
• Maintain merchandise for customer purchases and keep units clean and rentable.
• Prepare auction units according to procedure and lien laws.
