Job summary

U-Haul is seeking a Storage Center General Manager in Houston, TX to drive profitability and efficiency at a busy moving and storage center. You will hire and mentor staff, manage inventory, and oversee the fleet to ensure clean, well-maintained equipment.

This role emphasizes P&L accountability, cost control, and delivering high-quality customer service. The position requires weekend and holiday availability, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of retail or service management with P&L responsibility.
• Computer proficiency and strong organizational skills required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Perform profit/loss analyses.
• Hire and mentor new team members.
• Track and itemize inventory.
• Manage the fleet to deliver clean and well-maintained equipment.
• Manage the personnel budget.
• Ensure customers receive high quality care.
• Keep track of fuel receipts and petty cash.
• Clean and monitor premises, and maintain a secure environment.
• Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
