Job summary

U-Haul is seeking a General Manager to lead a moving and storage center in Houston. You will be responsible for profitability, staff development, inventory control, and maintaining high customer service standards in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities include fleet upkeep, cost analyses, budgeting, and ensuring safety. This role requires weekends/holiday availability and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of management experience in retail or service with P&L responsibility.
• Computer literacy required for daily operations and reporting.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a busy retail center.

Responsibilities

• Manage the fleet to ensure clean, well-maintained equipment.
• Perform profit/loss analyses and budget management.
• Hire, train and mentor staff; ensure excellent customer service.
• Track inventory and supervise POS, payments and cash handling.
• Ensure safety and security of premises and vehicles.
• Participate in ongoing U-Haul education and training.
