Job summary

U-Haul is seeking a responsible, motivated General Manager to run one of its moving and storage centers in the Houston area. You will drive profitability and efficiency by hiring effective staff, overseeing inventory, and managing equipment, while solving problems as they arise.

The role requires strong leadership in a fast-paced retail environment, with safety and customer satisfaction at the forefront. U-Haul emphasizes growth, education through U-Haul University, and a commitment to quality

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of management experience in retail or another service industry with responsibility for financial results and customer satisfaction

Responsibilities

• Manage the fleet to deliver clean and well-maintained equipment.
• Perform profit/loss analyses.
• Hire and mentor new team members.
• Track and itemize inventory.
• Manage the personnel budget.
• Ensure that customers receive the highest quality of care.
• Keep track of fuel receipts and petty cash.
• Clean and monitor the premises, and maintain a secure environment.
• Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
