Job summary

Garmin is seeking a Systems Architect 1 for our U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. The role leads project execution and design of new or existing systems across multiple functional areas to support growth and stability.

You will drive architecture decisions, document solutions, and participate in requirements gathering with engineering and operations teams to deliver scalable, high-performance systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 9 years of relevant experience.
• Design, build and maintain storage systems for block, file and object storage.
• Advanced knowledge of SAN, NAS, Object Storage, Software Defined Storage, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NVMe and storage networking.

Responsibilities

• Lead system architecture design for new or existing systems and applications.
• Conduct performance analyses using trends and metrics to identify bottlenecks.
• Gather requirements and translate into complex architectural solutions across multiple domains.
• Create and maintain architecture artifacts and deployment/implementation plans.
• Provide cost-effective architecture recommendations to support growth and stability.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations and product teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Lead load testing and capacity planning for releases and future growth.
