Job summary

Horizon BCBSNJ is seeking a Rating & Underwriting professional in New Jersey to support the Sales team by producing rates for 100+ markets and Stop Loss products. The role involves developing proposal and renewal rates, approving GEI/BIFs, and preparing ERISA 5500 reports.

Collaboration with brokers and groups is essential for renewals and financial guidance. Requirements include 3+ years in health insurance underwriting, a math/statistics/accounting background, and MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the health insurance industry with Rating/Underwriting.
• Stop Loss underwriting experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Math, Statistics, or Accounting is preferred.
• Proficient in Windows OS and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Develops and issues proposal rates for group size 100+ and experience rated proposals.
• Develops and issues renewal and proposal rates for alternately funded groups.
• Approves GEI and BIFs where applicable.
• Assembles data and produces ERISA 5500 reports and settlements for Sales.
• Researches rate and benefit inconsistencies and issues corrections/recommendations.
• Attends meetings with groups and brokers to discuss renewals and proposals.
• Maintains monthly financial reports for Enterprise Operations.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
