This essential reporting role requires collaboration with researchers and vendors, attention to accuracy in records, and safe handling of materials across campus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related work experience.
• Must possess, or have the ability to obtain by the date of hire, a valid California Driver's License, and maintain it throughout the course of employment.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds of equipment and supplies.
• Ability to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends when necessary.
• Familiarity with lab environments and safety practices is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Prepare incoming goods for delivery and match packing slips with purchase orders.
• Deliver items to lab drop-off points and coordinate shipments.
• Process online receiving and accounts payable paperwork with Caltech systems.
• Identify mis-shipments and arrange returns/credits with vendors.
• Prepare bills of lading for outgoing shipments and coordinate with Transportation Department.
• Interact with researchers and vendors to resolve bottlenecks and maintain records.
• Keep the stockroom area clean and adhere to safety requirements.
• Coordinate laundry services and ensure lab coats are marked.
• Assist with setup and takedown for division events as needed.
• Track missing items and respond to order status inquiries.
