Qualifications

The Stockroom / Materials Associate supports manufacturing operations by receiving, organizing, storing, picking, kitting, and issuing parts and materials. This entry-level role helps ensure that inventory is accurately maintained and that production teams receive the correct materials on time. The successful candidate is dependable, organized, safety-minded, and detail-oriented. Training will be provided on company systems, work instructions, material-handling practices, inventory transactions, quality requirements, and safety procedures.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Receive incoming parts, materials, supplies, and production components.
• Verify received quantities, part numbers, labels, and visible condition against packing slips, purchase orders, receiving documents, or system records.
• Identify and report damaged, short, incorrect, unlabeled, expired, or otherwise questionable material to the appropriate supervisor or department.
• Label, sort, stock, shelve, and put away materials into assigned bins, racks, shelves, and stockroom locations.
• Complete required receiving, put-away, transfer, issue, and other inventory transactions accurately in the company’s ERP, MRP, inventory-management system, or barcode-scanning system.
• Maintain clean, organized, safe, and clearly identified stockroom and staging areas.
• Pick, count, verify, label, and stage material kits for manufacturing work orders, production builds.
• Issue materials, components, and supplies to the production floor based on work orders and material requests.
• Perform scheduled cycle counts, recounts, physical inventory activities, and stock-location audits.
• Investigate and promptly report inventory shortages, overages, incorrect locations, labeling issues, and other discrepancies.
• Maintain material traceability including lot, serial, revision, when required by company procedures.
• Safely move materials using carts, dollies, pallet jacks and other approved equipment.
• Follow all applicable safety, quality, housekeeping, PPE, inventory-control, and standard-work procedures.
• Assist with stockroom organization, material-handling improvement efforts, and other
• warehouse or production-support duties as assigned.

Required qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• 1-2 Years experience in warehouse, stockroom or similar environment required
• Ability to read and follow labels, work orders, packing slips, part numbers, pick lists, and written work instructions.
• Basic math skills, including accurate counting, addition, subtraction, and quantity verification.
• Strong attention to detail and an ability to work carefully with parts, labels, inventory locations, and documentation.
• Ability to learn and use basic computer systems, handheld barcode scanners, tablets, or inventory software.
• Reliable attendance, punctuality, and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to communicate clearly and report inventory, quality, or safety concerns promptly.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience using Google workspace: Gmail, Docs, Meet, Calendar etc.
• 1-2 Years experience in manufacturing, assembly, warehouse operations, retail stockrooms, order fulfillment, shipping/receiving, or inventory handling.
• Experience using an ERP, MRP, WMS, or inventory-tracking system.
• Familiarity with cycle counts, physical inventory, receiving, put-away, picking, kitting, or production material replenishment.
• Experience operating pallet jacks, carts, or other material-handling equipment.
• Forklift certification or willingness to complete employer-provided training, if the position requires it.
• Experience handling controlled, lot-tracked, serialized, ESD-sensitive, or regulated materials.

Physical requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, stoop, and move throughout the stockroom, warehouse, and production areas for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to safely move materials using carts, pallet jacks, and other approved material-handling equipment.
• Ability to visually inspect labels, part numbers, quantities, product condition, and storage locations.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing, warehouse, or stockroom environment that may include noise, temperature variation, moving equipment, and required PPE.

Measures of success

• The Stockroom / Materials Associate will be successful by:
• Maintaining accurate inventory locations and timely inventory transactions.
• Preparing complete, correct, and on-time material kits for manufacturing.
• Receiving, labeling, and putting away materials accurately and efficiently.
• Performing cycle counts correctly and reporting discrepancies promptly.
• Keeping the stockroom organized, safe, and ready to support production.
• Helping ensure that production teams have the right materials, in the right quantity, at the
• right time.

Accurate receiving, controlled put-away, kitting, and routine cycle counts are important because receiving or location errors can flow downstream into picking and production shortages. Stockroom roles in manufacturing commonly combine production kit pulls, shelving and relocation, MRP transactions, cycle counts, and support for internal material requests.
