Job summary

Canal Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Akron, OH, is seeking a State Tested Nursing Assistant for the night shift (7pm–7am) to provide compassionate resident care under licensed supervision. The role emphasizes bathing, feeding, monitoring vitals, and documenting care in a supportive facility environment.

Applicants must hold an Ohio STNA certification, with prior long-term care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current STNA certification in the state of Ohio.
• Prior experience in a long term care setting or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Assist with feeding, toileting, and transferring residents as needed.
• Monitor and record vital signs, report changes to nursing staff, and document resident care.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, their families, and colleagues.
• Participate in therapeutic activities, recreation programs, and other events to promote resident engagement and well-being.
